Hyperhidrosis / Profuse Sweating

Condition:

Hyperhidrosis is a physiologic condition characterized by excessive or unexpected sweating. While it's natural for the body to sweat, sweating beyond what's necessary to maintain a normal body temperature can be irritating to the skin, embarrassing and stressful. If it is impairing daily activities, the use of Botox to alleviate these symptoms is a consideration. Approximately 1.3 million Americans suffer from severe primary hyperhidrosis and of those 66% have never discussed this with their physician. Ages 18-54 are the period of highest incidence.

If you are suffering with this problem please schedule a consultation with us to see if this would be an appropriate treatment option.

Treatment:

Botox

Botox, generally known for its treatment of wrinkles is a great treatment for hyperhidrosis. Botox can be injected into the hair-bearing skin of each underarm decreasing underarm sweating up to 90% within the first 48 hours and one treatment can keep sweating at bay for 9 months at a time.
